Ceramic AM Day – October 29

We are starting to know a lot about metal and polymer additive manufacturing which are widely used.  The ceramic AM market generated $113 million in 2022 and is expected to grow to over $2 billion by 2032 at 33.5% CAGR (source: VoxelMatters). This shows a take off in the technology and a growing demands for such materials.

Additive manufacturing is increasingly used to produce stable and resilient technical ceramics parts, able to meet high industrial standards.

High-performance ceramics are lightweight and stable: they can withstand extreme mechanical, thermal and chemical stress. A good fit for aerospace applications, among others.

Agenda:

  • Introduction to ceramics. Materials, process and post-process and the associated consequences/limitations.
  • Different techniques for ceramic additive manufacturing: advantages/disadvantages
  • When and why choosing additive manufacturing of ceramics? The advantages of printing compared to conventional methods.
  • Post-process: introduction to post-processing techniques
  • Typical applications.
  • Future trends and innovation
  • Maturity and examples of applications.
  • Design rules and limitations.

When:  29th of October 2024 – 9 – 16:30

Where: at AMEXCI facility in Örebro, Sweden

Who: anyone interested in printing ceramics, from designers to managers and innovators.

By whom: Grégory Nolens, PhD, is an expert in additive manufacturing with over 15 years of experience. His expertise spans 3D printing of ceramics for medical applications, as well as other industries including aerospace and luxury. As the founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of CERHUM, he has driven significant innovations in the field of patient-specific implants made of ceramics. His work combines advanced manufacturing techniques with a deep understanding of material science to enhance precision and efficacy in various high-tech applications.
