Application development workshop

Description
This workshop will guide participants to optimize a chosen application for Additive Manufacturing and teaches corresponding AM technology and design knowledge. The optimized application can be printed during the course using AMEXCI’s inhouse capacities.

Throughout the workshop, the participants will be able to iterate on their design under the guidance of AMEXCI’s team of designers, application engineers and material scientists. Hands-on activities on the design will be coupled with lectures covering different key topics such as: landscape of metal AM processes, cost calculations, topology optimization, data preparation and production planning.

The participants will be guided by at least one experienced teacher throughout all days and have access to expert sessions with AMEXCI people from design, production, and R&D, depending on the topics to be addressed. We can support you in selecting, designing and printing the original application prior to the workshop to ensure an efficient workshop.

Description

This course will allow participants to experience production with Additive Manufacturing at AMEXCI’s state-of-the-art facility in Karlskoga. An experienced application engineer will guide participants through the entire workflow for AM production covering data preparation, machine preparation, printing and post processing. The focus of the course will lie either on Polymer or Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion, other technologies  will be used as reference throughout the course.

The course is based on short lectures and discussion, but the focus will be to follow an AMEXCI application engineer during the data preparation and machine operation. Throughout the course you will get the possibilities to discuss your company’s individual applications with experts from AMEXCI and other participants.
