Material Testing

Accredited Materials Lab for Advanced Testing and Analysis

Our Materials Lab provides advanced testing and analysis for a wide range of materials and industries. Equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, we specialize in mechanical testing and microstructural evaluation. We work with printed samples but can also test samples that are coming from other sectors.
Our Materials Lab is accredited for ISO/IEC 17025 by SWEDAC since December 2023, with accreditation number 10577. The accreditation includes tensile-, impact-, and hardness testing of metallic materials, using both ISO and ASTM standards.

Testing Services

A metal specimen is held between two grips of a tensile testing machine, with the middle section being stretched and showing signs of impending fracture.

Tensile testing

Our electromechanical test rig 5892 from Instron with the capacity of 100 kN is equipped with extensometer and multiple gripping options to suit your test specimen design.

We offer accredited testing at room temperature for the SS-EN ISO 6892-1:2019, not app. G and ASTM E8/E8M:2024.

Impact testing

The 450J pendelum on our Instron 450MPX impact test rig enables testing of the toughest metals. The high-end Instron software will help you understand the perfomance of your material.
We offer accredited Charpy V impact testing according to EN-ISO 148-1:2016.

Hardness testing

With the Struers Duramin-40 AC2 Vickers hardness tester, the hardness of the material through single points or advanced patterns can be measured, with loads between 100g and 10kg.
We customise the testing according to your specification, as well as offer accredited Vickers hardness testing according to SS-EN ISO 6507-1:2023 and ASTM E92:2023.

Microscopy

With our light optical microscopes, LV150N from Nikon, we can reveal the internal structure of specimens and perform density as well as microstructure analysis.
